September 2011 Newsletter |
To all Leaders, September 2011 Bulletin It is the start of October and now our Camp is only seven weeks away. We have had some 30 Troops take advantage of our Early Bird Fee, along with others that think that September 25thcomes before our close of date of September 11th(someone thought it was worth a good try – sorry, not successful) We have been able to offer 8 Troops on the standby list positions to attend this year’s camp so far. The October 23 Deadline is looming so remember, if you haven’t made your payment yet, you need to do so before then or risk losing your places to waitlisted troops. Our Guiness World Record attempt will be taking place on the Sunday morning but unfortunately, due to a lack of sponsorship from companies approached, we will not be able to go ahead and print T-shirts as the cost to have 1,300 or so was over the $10,000 mark. I am still waiting on final confirmation from Chanel Nine’s Today Show about them attending as they only confirm bookings a few weeks out from each event!! We remain confident that this will happen. Over the next few weeks, I will be allocating camp sites and doing the Activity Roster. This will be emailed to you along with being listed on our website. Peter Macdonald (Macca) has been discussing with Manningham District, so that the registration procedure will be more effective than previous years. Macca shares the following information regarding this. Our 2011 Troop Registration procedure will be utilizing the Manningham District’s Online Event Booking website. Each troop is required to go online to http://www.gilweroo.com.au/registrations.html from where they can access the Online Event Booking website to register all their Gilweroo attendees. Scouts and any Venturers attending should be registered into Patrols (Venturers for convenience only). All adults are registered using the Leader registration facilities. The Gilweroo registration page also has a link to download specific instructions on how to enter your bookings. Or you can down load it from here: http://www.gilweroo.com.au/gilweroorego.pdf Yours in Scouting Bryan Crow, Camp Chief. |
